The History of the Department

The department “Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan and socio-political disciplines” is one of the leading departments of the Faculty of History. The department conducts educational and scientific work within the walls of the Aktobe Regional State University named after K. Zhubanov since the opening of the Aktobe Pedagogical Institute. Aktobe Pedagogical Institute was opened on April 15, 1966 in accordance with the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR. On May 2, 1966 the institute began its activity. At the institute  10 departments were opened, including the department of Marxism-Leninism, the head of which was N.T. Volodin. Well-known scientists began their pedagogical activity at this department : Doctor of Philosophy, Professor A.A. Aytaly, Doctor of Philology , Professor A. Moldakhanov.

In 1970, the Department of Philosophy and Scientific Communism appeared, headed by Doctor of Philosophy, Professor A.A. Aytaly. 1970-1980 the department was replenished with new personnel. The teachers of the department were S.A. Tabanov, a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy, Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov, A. Zh. Mukhambetzhan, a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Kazakh State University. S. Kirov, V.V. Sherbakov, graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy of Leningrad State University, graduates of the Faculty of Philosophy and Economics, Kazakh State University named after S. Kirov, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor B.K. Kozhamuratov, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Professor O. Nurgaliev, Senior Lecturer B.S. Abdrakhmanova, K.Sh. Karabalaev. During these years (1970-1984), the head of the department was Doctor of Philosophy, Professor A.A. Aytaly. In 1984, the department was headed by Associate Professor A.Zh. Mukhambetzhan.

1990 to 2014 the heads of the department were Doctor of Philosophy, Professor A. Taizhanov, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor B. Akhan, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Professor O. Nurgaliev, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Professor B. Utemisov, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor B.S. Shapiev, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor B.Kh.Davletyarova, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor M. Bozzhigitova, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor T.Kh. Ryskaliev, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor A.A. Asarov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor B .Zh.Kurmanbekov, candidate of philosophical sciences N.A. Nurgaliev, candidate of philosophical sciences M.G-N. Gabdsattarova.

Since 1991 the department changes its name and becomes the department of philosophy and cultural studies. In 1998 under the supervision of  the university rector  K.K.Kenzhebayev Professor and Doctor of Philosophy, Professor A.A.Aytaly opened a new specialty “Philosophy” at the History Department, further postgraduate study in “Social Philosophy”. Currently, the department employs 20 teachers, among them there are 2 doctors of philosophical sciences, 7 candidates of sciences, associate professors.
