Educational and scientific activities of the department
Training of students is carried out in accordance with standard, modular curricula. The availability of standard curriculum disciplines is 100%. The educational process uses the latest technology and teaching methods, modern literature to specialized audiences (study rooms, geography of international tourism, cartography, economic geography, geography of the Aktobe region, etc.).
Lecturers AbdenovA.Zh., Aidarova A.Z., Aiguzhina S.U., Abdullina A.G. SuleimenovaG.Zh. passed the refresher courses at the Republican Center«Өрлеу» (2014-2017).
Lecturers Sergeeva AM, Merhaydarova N.N, Nurgazin A.S took the level courses of Cambridge University (2017-2018).
In 2017 the candidate of technical sciences G.Zh. Suleimenova participated in the contest «Интерактивті формадағы үздік ашық сабақ», held at the Innovation Center of K.Zhubanov ARSU.
Lecturers of the department (S.U. Aiguzhin, M. M. Ismailov, G.Zh.,Suleimenov, etc.) took part in the international seminar on “Qualitative research methods” (University of Indiana East conducted by Professor K.M.Ris).
On January 15, 2018 lecturers of the department Merhadarova NN, Seminar E., Ismailov MM took part in a seminar on the topic «Жаңартылғанбағдарлама: тиімдіәдіс-тәсілдер», conducted by the Center for Pedagogical Excellence of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.
In order to develop the creative activity of students and improve the level of pedagogical skill, the teachers of the department use various modern teaching methods in their lessons.
By the EP 6В11101– “Tourism”, 6В01506 – “Geography”, 6В01511 – “Geography – History”, 7М01506 – “Geography” branches of the department are opened.

From 2 to 18 October 2018, the center for international cooperation held an international seminar “world experience in training and tourism management”, organized by senior expert service GmbH (SES) of Germany Gerd Ritthaler, which was attended by all teachers of the Department and passed training.
From November 26 to November 30, 2018 for holding the “Best Methodological Concilium” at the University Methodological Week “Methods and Efficiency of Digital Educational Resources in the Educational Process: Methodology and Efficiency” , also for participation in the inter-university competition “Methodological Projects 2019”, held on January 23, 2019, master G.Zh. Shumakova was awarded the nomination “Innovative teacher”.
In the city station of Young tourists the next lesson on dual training on discipline “Bases of tourist and local lore work” for students of the educational program Tourism is carried out. Practical skills acquired by students as a result of joint work of the Department of Geography and tourism and the station, allow to intensively improve knowledge and skills in tourism activities, in particular in the conduct of local history work.
The teacher, Seminar Yerkegul was awarded a letter of thanks For the open lesson «Formation of economic and geographical representations in Russia», presented at the competition «Best open lesson in interactive form» (2019).
The teacher, Nurgazina Aizharkyn Sultanbekovna held an open lesson on the topic «Internal waters of the CIS» in the competition «Best open lesson in interactive form» and was awarded in the category «Ensuring student cooperation through ICT» (2019).
The academic year 2019 – 2020 was a success for the Department’s research work:
– In the 2019 – 2020 academic year, the Department received 21 author’s certificates.
– In the Republican contest of student research works in the direction 5B011600 – Geography, our students Sabytaeva S., Kibatullayeva A. took 2nd place. Scientific supervisors-Sergeeva A.M., Seminar E.
– Students of the specialty EP 6B11101 – «Tourism» took 2nd place in the distance Olympiad on «Tourism» of International and national level, dedicated to the great teacher, People’s teacher of the USSR Nurgaliev Nurgalievich. Scientific supervisors – Abdenov A.Zh, Omirzakova M.Zh.
– Bolatbek Nazerke, a 4th-year student majoring in geography, was awarded a 1st-degree diploma at the competition of scientific papers organized as part of the week of science.
Features of the curriculum of EP 6B11101-Tourism for 2020-2024: the program major-tourism, minor-marketing, minor-translation was introduced, and the first students were accepted.
